white christmas

so the midwestern storm of 2009 hit a few days before christmas and lasted til a few days after. heath & i headed to his hometown to be w/ his family (in brewster, mn -- southwestern part of the state) -- where we got 24" of snow!!! it was great to be with them for a long much needed 4day wkend! lots of laying low, playing cards & just hanging out. of course id drink if i could have, but i still had a good time. heath has a wonderful family and im so lucky that i have them in my life too! .....of course i missed my family as well. this was my first christmas not with some combination of them! but, i guess things change as we get older :)

baby is doing well. growing and moving a lot! i guess people still think i'm pretty small, which i guess is good. i just hope she's growing like she's supposed to. but, i'm also hoping she's not gonna be a 9lb baby! next week monday i have another doc appointment and from then on out i have weekly visits. i guess this time is going to FLY by! .....

especially since we are MOVING this week! both of our families will be there to help with moving and intial projects in the new house. so even tho i didnt see my fam over xmas i'll get to see them soon :) i feel bad b/c there isnt much i can do to help. but, i'll do what i can!

P-A-R-T....Why?

So this afternoon my lovely co workers (Kelly Melissa & Britta) hosted a work baby shower for me! It was really sweet and I enjoyed just hanging out at work for a few hours w/ the office ladies! All three made/brought some yummy food and we all just hung out in the main office area. Baby B got some great little gifts (LOTS of pink) that she (aka Heath & I) will enjoy using! So, thanks again ladies! (Ps This is my/our first shower!!! Aww)

Last Tues was our last Baby Class. Which we are glad to be over with but at the same time, it was a nice way to learn things as well as meet a few other couples. Will we stay in touch, who knows... but it was nice. There was a guest couple w/ their newborn baby (9wks?) that was there as a Q&A opportunity. It was nice to hear their "story" and ask some questions. But Heath said the sweetest/cutest thing to me ever... so the couple's baby (a girl) was super cute and very well-behaved... so Heath leaned over and whispered to me: "I want our baby girl now. I just want to hold her. She's going to be so cute!!" Seriiously, this melted my heart.

I love him so much and he's going to be such a great father. In some ways I "can ways", but really, I cant wait for little Baby B to finally be here :) And though my due date is "technically" 2/8/10... my "official unofficial" guess is 2/4/10........ so, I guess only time will tell!

just a thought

ok, it goes w/o saying that im excited to be mom soon & have, for the most part, enjoyed being pregnant. HOWEVER... here is a "small" list of the things i'm excited to be able to do/partake in once i am no longer "with child"...... in no particular order:

1. tanning
2. drinking
3. drinking coffee/caffine
4. sleeping on my stomach
5. fitting in my "skinny" clothes
6. ...and therefore shopping
7. wearing heels
8. "see my feet"
9. sleeping thru the nite w/o peeing 4-5 times
10. "dieting" and regular exercise
11. oh and did i say drinking?! ;)

ok that is all. stay warm!

baby, it's cold outside!

wow... winter is DEF here! we got a ton of snow and the temps are in the single digits (even below zero with windchills)!!!! the commute has been ok so far but obviously in winter/snow storms i am a lot more nervous! ps, last week wed the uw system had its first ever "snowday"!!!! so, i didnt have to work, it was totally awesome!

it's getting close to xmas so we're trying to prep for that. not much news as far as baby goes... just that its getting closer! it seems w/every day she moves more & more. which is pretty cool. i have a doc appointment this next monday so maybe i'll hve some interesting "news" then....but for now... "no news is good news".

this weekend is jack's graduation from ISU.... so ben & i (and maybe heath) will be heading down on saturday for the day. i guess both grandparents will be there as well as (obvs) my parents & then one set of my aunt/unlce/cousin. so it'll be nice to see them, esp since i wont during xmas!

well that's all i have to say for now. i'm just excited xmas is near...... i know its cliche, but it really is one of my favorite times of the year!!!!!!! oh, and heath & i are sending out "holiday xmas cards" this year, kinda cheesy but fun too!!! :)

wha wha what?

so i think the baby has hiccups right now. i mean i guess i dont "know"....but there is a light, consistant tapping feeling in my lower stomach & it has been going on for the past several minutes. ....hiccups?! at least i think so! its a weird feeling,but it's cute to think that my baby is having hiccups! too bad i cant feed her a spoonful of peanut butter to help stop them. idk about you but i hate having the hiccups!!
