midsummer

ok so i know i havent posted in a loooong time, my apologies. but time has been FLYING by. the fact that we are so busy probably doesnt help... but it is what it is. and i seriously cannot belive its already mid july!!

lauren turned 5months this past friday - she's getting so big! in a nutshell i'm trying to think of her changes & landmark... here are some:
- she's gotten REALLY good at playing w/ things in her hands. she loves putting her nook in her mouth herself.
- she now (knock on wood) is pretty consistant at sleeping through the night, on her tummy, in her crib... YAY LITTLE GIRL! and mommy and daddy like this too :)
- she keeps getting stronger: is liking tummy time more, using her arms to prop herself up AND finally rolling from her tummy to her back (altho i have yet to witness this, heath has seen her do it multiple times).
- we are feeding her rice cereal at night and she loves lvoes that. hopefully soon we'll try feeding her some veggies and fruits.
- as of the beginning of july i am no longer breastfeeding her (or pumping). i was very sad about this for awhile (i sort of miss that time w/ her)...but am fine w/ it now. and, in all reality, its a little more "convenient".
- lauren's hair is growing in and getting longer! altho we like to call her "come over baby" because she's got the cutest natural left part that makes her baby hair look like a combover!
- she looooves to  babble and talk. she's pretty much got down her "m's" and "d's"... (there is a video on facebook) altho its not intentional. we think we're going to work on her "l's" next :)

on other notes... we are moving along w/ wedding stuff... i cannot believe it's right around the corner (just over 3months away)!!! on saturday we took THREE HOURS (ugh!) to register at target. it was actually a lot of fun, but took way more time than we thought. lauren was quite the trooper and did SO good the whole time we were there :)

i got a new job closer to home and will start in two days! today is my last day at stout, and it is definitely bittersweet. i will really miss it here, especially for my work bff and good friend kelly!! she seriously has been the joy and lifesaver of this job! i will MISS HER SOOOO MUCH!!!!! thankfully i'll be doing admissions at my new job and hopefully we will be able to schedule some things together and/or see each other at fairs :) but, i am grateful for this new job and am really looking forward to having a new job. the staff seems really really nice and im excited for the challenge of a new job :) so, we shall see! PLUS i will get a little more morning time w/ lauren, woooot wooooooooo!!

well thats all i have for now! love to you all :)

daddy's girl

yesterday lauren & heath celebrated their first fathers day!!! ...granted, a year ago when we headed to brewster for heath's family's annual family reunion, we told them we were going to have a baby... this year is the one that counts :)

yeah we headed down to brewster to be with heath's family... everyone was there so that was a lot of fun. its always a little bitcrazy, too. but we all have a  good time. sat we golfed down in iowa. actually, i dont mean "we", heath golfed and i watched. actually "watched" as in drank. honestly i havent drank that much since before i was pregnant w/ lauren. it was a good time, but i wasnt feeling so hot later that night!! then that evening we all went out for dinner to celebrate jay &beth's 35 wedding anniversary (it was last nov, so we were a lil late but it was fun).

sun we all headed back down to iowa and had a big potluck picnic w/ the baumgard side. i obviously dont know that many people, but there were some familiar faces. and lauren did such a good job! she was cute and fun.... and jsut was a great traveler all weekend :)

prior to heading down to be w/ heath's family -- lauren had her 4 month appointment. she got her shots and we found out she is 25 1/4" long and 14lbs 15oz. she is still very long and skinny for her 4months age group. she's happy and healthy and developing at or above her age. and yes, we are the proud parents! she is such a joy and gets more fun each day. oh, and she's starting to eat a TON! last night she at 8oz within an hour before bed. but hey, i dont mind... if she's full b4 bed, then she only wakes up once to get fed and changed. so not too bad?!

anyway, another work week. next week my mom will be in town. we dont have daycare that week so my mom's gonna come and chill lil l during the week. so that should be fun!!! getting a much needed haircut on saturday...im excited and nervous. so, we shall see :)

time is flying by!! really, june?!

well lauren continues to grow and develop! she's loving being able to rollover and does so all the time! its sad that i dont get to spend a lot of time with her during the week, but fortunately heath does. at any rate, she's starting to develop other small things, such as...
- she takes her nookie out with her hand, quite often, and sometimes "intentionally" puts it back in. altho im pretty sure, that's mostly an accident
- she talks and smiles constantly. my fave time with her is in the moring b/c shes so cheery and smiley.
- since she's figured out rolling over, she's getting to like being on her tummy more. she's figured out how to use her arms mor and therefore holds her head up higher.
- she also kicks around in that "i wanna crawl soon" sort of fashion. she's got strong little legs. and altho i'm sure i'll be eating my words later, we're excited for her to crawl, walk and talk!!!!
- much to my dismay, lil l has been getting 1/2 formula and 1/2 breastmilk. i know this is totally fine, ijust am struggling to keep producing milk. work really has impacted that!!
- she continues to love book time w/ daddy. and heathjust got her some new toys last night. they played with them this morning and i guess she really likes those as well. she is just becoming more and more fun!! ...if you know what i mean :)
but all in all our little girl is happy and healthy. and we LOVE HER SO MUCH!! its weird to think that just over a year ago i found out i was pregnant. and now she's her. such a blessing and miracle :) :) we are so lucky to have her. gosh, i just love her SO MUCH!!

on an "un-baby" note, wedding planning is progressing. the most exciting part is that last week i got my wedding dress! i ordered it may 1, it came in may 15...and i picked it up june 3. and i looove it! it'll need alterations (and i need to lose more weight), but i am soooo glad i got this 2nd dress. i feel beautiful in it and hopefully heath will too. now all i have to get are my veil & headpiece, (ive always wanted a long cathedral veil), shoes and jewelry. so fun :)

movement milestone

it's official... lauren rolled over, on her own (after about a week of avid trying), this past tuesday (6/1) in the evening. both heath and i were with her,so we both got to see it! i dont think either of us could have been more proud! esp knowing how hard she had been trying (and seeing how frustrated a little baby can get) the past week. lauren too was pretty proud of herself! and now, even though its only been a few days, she's rolling over like a pro. just w/ more ease and a lot faster. it's so cute!!!! anyway here is a pic (sorry its a lil blurry) of her after she rolled over! she's just so happy w/ herself!!  we love her, go little lauren go!!!

scoot, wiggle & roll

so miss l has been quite the mover and shaker lately... and we think she'll figure out crawling pretty soon. when put on her tummy she now holds her head up pretty high and moves her legs in a crawling-like way. she hasnt yet figured out what to do w/ her arms, though (picture 1). when on her back she'll use her feet to scoot up along the floor. so she'll move from point a to point b pretty quickly (picture 2). also, lately, she has been flipping onto her left side, in efforts to get on her belly (picture 3). ill find her that way in her crib & heath says she does that a lot on her toy mat. he also told me this morning she sqealed in frustration that she couldnt roll over! she keeps both knees bent and her hands by her mouth so her left leg/arm is in the way. but, like i say, we have a feeling sh'ell figure it out soon!! anyway its cute to see her starting to move and making progress. she's a strong little girl & has been from the start! so, maybe we're in for a real "treat" once she moves, but its exciting to think she's developing and growing so that she can move!! and really, its very very cute. we are so proud of her! :) :) here are some pictures...
