loose ends

so we just got back from target... just to grab some last minute things for the baby and "hospital" trip! and.... dare i say... i feel like i'm pretty "set". i wont say "ready"....but i do feel we have most things in place. the only things left are:

- put carseats in cars
- find one of those carseat blankets (bunting thingys?)
- pak the suitcase
- finish the iPod playlist
- GET ENUF SLEEP! :)

but no, i am feeling pretty good. granted i'm not "excited" for what's to come... labor/delivery wise. but i am excited to meet little L.E.B..... crazy, huh?! these months have really gone fast. i cannot believe we are going to be parents, ahhhhh!!

my maternity leave officially starts this monday (beginning of february) and goes until mid april. we still have daycare lined up... but i have a feeling the 10wks i have off will also go fast! but i'll worry about that later. like my motto has been the whole time: "one day at a time"!!!!

anyway, just a little update. time to eat dinner (that heath made, yum!) and then do more housework/relax. this COULDbe our last wkend w/o a baby!!!

two weeks

i cannot BELIEVE i only have "two" weeks left!!!...or at least until my due date.... crazy!! i guess im excited but we still ahve a lot of little stuff to do! we started putting together the baby's room awhile ago (check out the pics), but its been a little by little process. last night i was able to wash most of her clothes & put sheets on the crib. everything is so cute and her "NB/0-3month" clothing is SOOOOO TINY!

anyway, here is what we have to do yet:

- finish buying things that we need for her (that we didnt get thru gifts or baby showers). thanks again to all who have given us gifts and/or came to a baby shower...so fun! great memories! :)

- i need to finish packing for the hospital. i started...but i am not done.
- makea playlist of music to have at the hospital. i am def going to need that as relaxation and distraction!!! heath was so cute and helped by starting an "LEB" playlist last night. now i need to finish it.
- put both carseat bases in both our cars

- finish baby laundry and organize her closet and dresser!!!!!!

also, i had a doc appointment today, here are those updates:

- i have been 1cm dialated the past two weeks but now im closer to 2cm (around 1.75cm)

- she didnt mention it today, but last week i was "50% effaced"

- this morning the doc asked me if i was feeling more pressure b/c i guess the baby is lower... im guessing she "dropped" some?! so... i guess things are moving forward!!

- also, i guess my bloodpressure was a little higher than normal so the doc recommended i stay home and "rest" the next couple days. the baby is fine but since i'm so close to the end they want me to be careful and "stress free". so, im home for sure today thru wed..... which, i am secretly thankful for. it'll be nice to catch up on sleep & things!

well thats all i have. we've got a lot to do but i guess we're just waiting for baby!!!!

getting closer

so today i am 36wks and just got back from a doc appointment. i found out a few things:
1. i didnt gain any weight w/in the last week, YAY!
2. the baby is head down and her back/spine is along my right side.
3. at 37wks they consider babies 'full term' so if "labor" starts, they let it happen. so we will have a baby as early as next week or as late as mid february. CRAZY!

4. i am 1cm dialated. which i guess is a good/normal thing. again, crazy.

there is still A LOT to do w/ getting ready for the baby... buying stuff, finishing the house, paperword, etc. seriously, i just feel overwhelmed right now! PLUS im just trying to get as much sleep as possible. honestly, i wish i could take the next few days/week off so i could get everything done! :( i'm trying to remain calm/organized buti just dont know what to feel anymore. plus there are a few other things that are clouding my mind.... sigh.... oh well.

oh, the baby shower this past wkend was a lot of fun. im SO grateful and blessed to have such great family and friends :) tracy andmy mom did a lot and it was so fun :) also my parents were in town again to help w/ more house stuff. seriously, all the help we've been getting has been amazing! thank you thank you THANK YOU!! xoxoxoxo

new year... LOTS of NEWNESS

well, this will be a big update, but im gonna do it in numbered paragraphs.... i know, weird, but i think it'll be easier than just typing!~

1. as of thu 12/31/09 we (& a small army) have been working sun up to sun down on moving and fixing up the house that heath just bought! he owened it since the end of nov but we couldnt move in til the end of dec. so basically in a week we...
- moved out of our apartment & cleaned it floor to ceiling
- ripped up old dog infested carpet & replaced w/ new in entire house
- prime/painted all rooms (just need to take down wallpaper in all bathrooms & entryway)
- put in hardwood flooring (real hard wood... it's hot!)
- installed shelving in closets
*we still have a lot more to day, it's DEF a work in progress, but a BIG thanks to all who have helped so far (& to those who will help in the future)!!!!! we wouldNOT have been able to do this alone! PLUS heath has been amazing. doing SO much, being organized & making sure that everything is coordinated & getting done! i love him so much!

2. baby time is getting closer and closer! as of this coming monday 1/11/10 (i'll be 36wks then), i will have weekly doc appts complete w/ crotch exams... yay (not). but baby is doing well... ive gained about 30-35lbs so far (gross) but i guess that's normal/ok. i just hope i dont gain too much. however, my belly isnt that huge. which, i asked my doc about and she said thats ok & not to be worried. all women carry their babies differently. ps, due date is officially 2/8/10 however both heath & i guessed & hope that she'll be born on 2/4/10. so, we'll just have to see :) :)

3. my mom and tracy are throwing a baby shower for me this wkend! so some of my female relatives and some good girl friends will be at our house this wkend. it'll be fun to see people and "show off" what we've done to the house so far :) i'm excited that my grandma will be in town (w/ my aunt) from nebraska!!!! i just hope we can get the house straightened/cleaned up a lil bit!!

4. tonight we have a meeting w/ a gal from the place where our wedding recpetion will be. i dont have much to report on that, but it's kinda exciting. altho, most of the wedding planning will be done post baby... as in the spring. b/c honestly, house & baby are "now" where as wedding is "a little" down the way. though...... 11/6/10 WILLcome sooner than i think!

well thats all for now. :) oh, and on a side note, holy heck has it been FREEZING cold here lately! i mean i get that it's winter an i live in wi/mn, but still!!!!
